These Cinnamon Sugar Twists are a sweet spin on my famous breadstick dough! Half the batch makes perfect pizza bombs, while the other half becomes golden, buttery twists sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and finished with a silky cream-cheese drizzle.

Make them thin for a crisp snack or thicker for soft, pull-apart bites — either way, they’re irresistible. They’re also freezer-friendly (minus the drizzle), so you can bake ahead and glaze later.

  • 2 Tbsp active dry yeast
  • 2 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 3–4 Tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Cream Cheese Drizzle (optional)

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 Tbsp milk or cream
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough
    • Dissolve yeast in warm water in a large bowl.
    • Add sugar, oil, salt, and flour; mix until a soft dough forms.
    • Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Shape & Coat
    • Divide dough in half (reserve half for pizza bombs, if desired).
    • Roll remaining dough into ropes: thin for crispy twists, thicker for soft bites.
    • Brush ropes with melted butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
  3. Bake
    • Arrange on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18–22 minutes, until golden.
  4. Add the Drizzle
    • Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
    • Drizzle over warm twists and enjoy!
  5. Storage
