Everything You Need to Know About the Bosch Universal Mixer

Bosch Universal Mixer on a kitchen counter with attachments.

If you’ve ever watched one of my bread, cookie, or big-batch baking videos, you’ve probably seen my Bosch Universal Mixer in action. It’s hands-down my favorite kitchen tool for mixing everything from soft roll dough to double batches of cookie dough.

I get so many questions about how I put it together, take it apart, and keep it clean that I decided to film a quick tutorial. Whether you’re new to this mixer or you’ve owned one for years, this post will walk you through how I use it, the easiest way to assemble the attachments, and my best tips for cleaning and caring for it.

This isn’t a sponsored review—I just truly love this mixer and want to make sure you get the most out of yours. (If you don’t have one yet, you can grab it at NutriMill.com and save $20 with my code DeliciouslyBold—thank you for supporting my kitchen content!)

Bosch Universal Mixer Tips & Tricks

  • Choose the Right Attachment: Use the dough hook for bread, cinnamon rolls, and pizza dough; the wire whisks for cakes, batters, and whipped cream; and the cookie paddles for heavier batters.
  • Start Slow, Then Speed Up: Begin on a low setting so ingredients don’t fly out, then gradually increase speed as the dough or batter comes together.
  • Mind the Lid: The splash ring is there for a reason—keep it on when working with flour or powdered sugar to avoid a mess.
  • Cleaning is Simple: Most attachments and the bowl are dishwasher-safe, but I recommend hand-washing the whisks and dough hook for longer life. Wipe the base with a damp cloth—never submerge it.
  • Storing Attachments: Keep the whisks and paddles in a small bin or drawer near the mixer so you’re not searching when you’re ready to bake.

With just a little care, your Bosch mixer will last for years—and make mixing big batches a breeze.
